Pricing Scenarios and FAQ
We have posted some common scenarios below that will allow you to understand the basic pricing established for prospective residents of Carmel Hills.

Meet Stan and Liz

John is worried about his parents, Stan and Liz.  They have just retired and live in a home that’s way too big for them.  Even when the grandchildren visit, Liz has to clean for days because of the size of the house.  John has been encouraging them to downsize for quite some time, and they’ve just now started to listen.  Their main concern is not having to move again should their health situation change.

They have begun to look together at some retirement communities.  John’s father, Stan, has created a list of his wants and needs:

  1. Must feel like home, not a hotel.

  2. Needs a good atmosphere.

  3. Has to be close to our stores.

  4. Need to get back some of the entrance fee for my son, John.

  5. Don’t want to have to move again.

What did they find as the answer?  Carmel Hills!  The 15-acre campus definitely had the feeling of home and it’s a Christian community, so the atmosphere is great!  They’re just minutes away from shopping.  With independent living and a 24/7 staffed care center, they’ll have assistance if their health becomes an issue.  One of the available packages enables Stan and Liz to move into a two-bedroom apartment, pay as little as $2,324 per month, and they’ll get back 50% of the entrance fee!  Stan and Liz, welcome to Carmel Hills!! Meet Ruth and Judy

Ruth is worrying about her mother, Judy.  Judy has just lost her husband and does not want to stay in the house they had built together.  Ruth is trying to invite her mother to stay with her, but Judy is very independent and would prefer not to move in with Ruth and her family, even though she loves them very much.  They sit down together and Ruth asks her mom what she wants to do.  Judy writes down three things:

  1. I want to stay very active.

  2. I’d like to get a ride to the grocery store every now and then.

  3. I want to be part of a community with other believers in my Lord, Jesus Christ.

Ruth remembers hearing about a Christian community in south Charlotte so she searches the internet and finds the link for Carmel Hills.  She’s unsure, though, how independent her mom will be able to be so they schedule a tour.  After the 45-minute tour, both Ruth and Judy realize that this is the place.  Carmel Hills is where Judy wants to be, but can she afford all of this?  After sitting down for a consultation after the tour, she’s pleasantly surprised to learn that she can live independently in a cottage by the lake for only $1,513 per month, (if she chooses the declining entrance refund plan.)  She’s so happy to have found everything she was looking for in Carmel Hills!  More Info

Meet Eustace and Gwen

Eustace and Gwen retired five years ago.  They’ve always been in good health but this year hasn’t been so great for them.  Gwen might soon need a nurse nearby 24/7.  Eustace knows that he can’t handle the responsibility of caring for Gwen, the house, and not to mention himself.  Something has got to change; they can’t go through retirement like this.  What happens if Eustace also ends up needing assistance?  They share their plight with a few friends at church.  One of them recommends that they check out Carmel Hills.  The next day, they schedule a tour.

Eustace and Gwen can’t believe how the Lord is answering prayer.  They can move together into an independent living apartment, and if one of them needs supervised care, then that one could move over into the care center until they are able to go back into their apartment.  Initially the apartment will cost them $2,215 per month.  If they originally move in while they both are still independent, then with one person in a one-bedroom apartment and a spouse in the care center, they would pay $4,175 per month with a fifty-percent refundable entrance fee agreement.  They finally have found the peace of mind they were expecting in their retirement years.  Carmel Hills, what a great choice!  More Info
