The highest possible rating, four stars, was awarded to Carmel Hills this spring by the State of North Carolina. This is a new, federal rating system that is in its second year of deployment in North Carolina. Both years, Carmel Hills has been awarded the highest possible rating.
Three areas are used as sources of data for the ratings:
- Health Inspection Surveys- The health inspection rating contains information from the last three years of onsite inspections, including both standard surveys and any complaint surveys.
- Quality Measures- The quality measure rating contains information on 10 different physical and clinical measures for nursing home residents.
- Staffing- The staffing rating includes information about the number of hours of care on average provided to each resident each day by the nursing staff.
In Charlotte, a premium location in the Southeast, only 5 facilities including Carmel Hills received four stars. 36 facilities received three stars and one received 2 stars. We thank the staff and management. The overall quality of the experience they provide has been recognized.
